Ever heard of The Heidelberg Project? If you haven't, you should go check it out! 3600 Heidelberg St. Detroit, MI 48207 (I see another post in the near future...). The Heidelberg Project not only has a whole street dedicated to their work, they also have their art work throughout Detroit! Giant Steps is one of those places where their artwork is portrayed! If you haven't seen Giant Steps yet, YOU NEED TO SEE IT VERY SOON. It's located on 64 Watson St, behind the Ye Ole Butcher Shoppe. The building is scheduled to be demolished (not sure of the actual date) because of structural instability. I'm sad to see it leaving because it's such an outstanding piece. My favorite aspect about Giant Steps are the bright colors. There are also real shoes to go along with the paintings that are spread around the entire building.

This is my favorite shoe. Makes me want high rise blue combat boots now. 

Remember if you do visit Giant Steps (which I highly recommend) DO NOT TAKE ANY ARTWORK WITH YOU. Tyree Guyton's (the founder of The Heidelberg Project) wish is to see the artwork fall with the building. So please, respect his wish. An artist's vision should never be tampered with.
